Oxygen for Saving Life

We need your support

Krishibid Foundation for Humanity (KFH) is committed to helping vulnerable people in any crisis. As the covid-19 pandemic situation is going to be worst and the covid patients are facing a serious problem due to the lack of oxygen cylinders. Therefore, KFH has decided to stand by the helpless people in the current pandemic situation by providing oxygen cylinders.

In the current dire situation, Krishibid Foundation for Humanity (KFH) is providing free oxygen cylinders to save the lives of corona patients in Dhaka district. However, with the increasing number of covid patients, the demand for oxygen cylinders from KFH's also increasing. But due to the limited number of oxygen cylinders, KFH is not able to provide a sufficient amount of oxygen cylinder in comparison to the demand. Moreover, many peoples from different districts are also requesting to expand our oxygen service to other parts of the country. Hence, we are seeking support from the humanitarian people in the country and abroad to extend their helping hand to strengthen our capacity to supply the oxygen cylinders. Your donation will help to save a life.

For those who have unused oxygen cylinders, we are also requesting them to donate cylinders to assist in our activities. It is to be noted that, if the donor needs an oxygen cylinder in the future, it will be provided on a priority basis. Anyone interested in donating to this event is requested to contact the Project President.

    • If you want to keep an oxygen cylinder for more than 5 days, you will have to pay a charge of 300/- (three hundred) per day. Note that this charge is set so that no one gets stuck in the cylinder unnecessarily. This money will later be spent only for the welfare of patients.
    • The cylinder will be provided with filled oxygen. When the oxygen is depleted and the patient needs oxygen, the patient has to refill the oxygen at his own expense. Patients can refill oxygen on their initiative or with the help of KFH. Note that at the current market price, the refilling charge of each oxygen cylinder at home is TK.1000 and in the station is TK. 300.

Caution: Care must be taken not to catch fire while using oxygen. There are some rules and precautions for using oxygen are as follows:

  • Keep the cylinder at least five feet away from flammable substances such as matches, candles, cigarettes, gas burners, fireplaces, or any other combustible material and any heat source such as space heaters, steam pipes, ovens, and any other room heating device.
  • Keep the cylinder away from direct sunlight.
  • Do not use any type of aerosols such as air freshener or hair spray near the oxygen cylinder. NB. Aerosols are a special type of combustible substance.
  • Do not keep the oxygen cylinder near the gas stove during cooking.
  • Do not smoke in a room where there is an oxygen cylinder.
  • Never use any oil on the oxygen cylinder and do not hold it with oily or greasy hands.
  • When not using oxygen, turn it off completely.

Note that the money of the cylinder charge will be used for the purchase or rent of new cylinders or will be spent for the patients. Also, this charge has been fixed daily so that no one gets stuck in the cylinder unnecessarily. Unnecessarily holding the cylinder means that another corona patient is deprived of our services at the most urgent moment.

A request:

Unfortunately, although some patient has oxygen level 96/98 or improved the oxygen level, their families are trying to stock the KFHS’ cylinder in advance. This means those patients who need emergency oxygen are being deprived of our oxygen services. Therefore, everyone is requested to receive the oxygen cylinder following the rules and return it on time.

Unnecessarily holding the cylinder may lead to the death of another patient due to lack of oxygen.
